Tree removal is sometimes the only safe option. A tree may be dead, diseased, storm-damaged, leaning towards a house or simply too big for where it was planted. Before we recommend felling we always look at the alternatives, such as a crown reduction, because a healthy tree is worth keeping wherever it can stay.
Our Tree Removal Services
No two trees come down the same way. In an open field a tree can often be felled in one piece, while a tree in a small garden has to be dismantled from the top down. We choose the method that suits the site and the tree, then clear the timber and brash away so the site is left tidy.
Sectional Dismantling
Where there is no room to drop a tree whole, we climb it or work from a cherry picker and take it down in small sections.
Heavy limbs are lowered on ropes to protect roofs, walls, fences, sheds and borders below.
Straight Felling
In open ground a tree can often be felled in one controlled cut, once we have planned the direction of fall and cleared the drop zone.
The trunk and limbs are then cut into manageable lengths and cleared away.
Dead and Dangerous Trees
Dead, diseased or storm-damaged trees can drop limbs without warning, so we make them safe quickly.
We remove the hazard first and then the rest of the tree, with care for the ground and plants around it.
Permissions and TPOs
Trees covered by a Tree Preservation Order, or standing in a conservation area, need consent before any work is done.
We check the status of your trees and arrange the permissions needed with the local council.
Stump Grinding
Once the tree is down, the stump can be ground out below ground level with our stump grinder.
That leaves the ground ready for turf, paving or a new tree, with no regrowth from the old stump.
Replanting
We aim to plant more trees than we fell, at no extra cost to our customers.
If you would like a replacement, we will help choose a species that suits the space, soil and light.
Typical Removal Jobs
Many of our removals are in back gardens, where a tree has outgrown the space or started to lean towards the house. Access is often through a side gate, and there are walls, sheds and flower beds to protect.
In jobs like this we dismantle the tree in sections from a cherry picker or by climbing, lower each piece under control and carry it out through the garden, leaving the lawn and beds as we found them.
